Dry Eye Treatments

Treatments for sufferers of dry eye will be targeted to the patient following specialised tear film analysis. These treatments can involve heat therapies, at home management routines using a range of products, and red light therapies. See below our specific Dry Eye treatments.

Our Eye Spa will leave your eyes feeling so comfortable!

Eye Spa

Our specialised equipment is used to diagnose any dry, irritated eye issues, and we discuss what treatments may be beneficial.  We shall apply a gentle warmth to the eyes, cleanse them with specialised sensitive-free products, and lubricate them at the appropriate tear film layer.

DRY EYE CLINIC - FAQ'S

What is Dry Eye?

With every blink, our eyes release a sophisticated layer of tears that keeps the eye moist, ensures clear vision, and provides protection. Dry eye is a multifaceted condition where this tear layer fails to adequately maintain moisture. This can result from decreased tear production or increased evaporation of the tears.

The Causes

  • Age
  • Medications
  • Medical conditions
  • Laser surgery
  • Windy, smoky or dry environments
  • Prolonged use of digital devices
  • Eyelid disease

The Symptoms

The most common symptoms our patients suffer with are:

  • Stinging or burning feeling
  • Sandy or gritty feeling
  • Watery eyes
  • Red eyes
  • Intermittent blurry vision

The Treatments

Treatment for Dry Eye starts with a comprehensive assessment by one of our skilled optometrists. They will identify the specific causes of your Dry Eye and develop a personalised management plan. This plan often includes a combination of in-office treatments and at-home routines designed to control your symptoms. Typically, these approaches are trialled for a short period before you return for a follow-up visit to evaluate their effectiveness.

What to do now?

If these explanations happen to resonate with your daily struggles, schedule a Dry Eye consultation with us. We’ll help you to effectively manage your eye health.

This treatment integrates a unique and patented combination of OPE (Optimised Power Energy), IPL (Intense Pulsed Light), and LLLT (Low-Level Light Therapy) to effectively treat the glands and eyelids.
